Toolshed

Bigger tools and how they were built. Every card says what the tool can break and how ready it is. Nothing here asks you to install anything yet.

How to read the labels

LabelWhat it means
Write-upHow it works and what went wrong, to read. There’s nothing to install.
In testingIn daily use here, but not shared yet.
ReadyIt passed every check below, and you can add it.
ComingBeing written. The card says what to expect.

A tool is marked Ready only after all four of these:

  • 30 days of daily use here with no fix needed. A fix starts the 30 days again.
  • A scan finds no personal details in its files.
  • Someone else adds it on a fresh account, and it works.
  • A plain guide to what it does, what it can break, and how to undo it.

Nothing has passed yet. A skill is a saved set of steps your AI follows, and skills follow the same rule. The four on Stage 4 are in testing until late November.

On the shelf

Network watcher

Status: Write-up

What it does
Watches a home network day and night. When an access point drops off, it restarts it and writes down why.
Who it’s for
People who run their own network gear and want the 3am problems handled, with proof.
What you need
Network gear you can manage, a small computer that stays on, and an AI to build it with. You build your own from the write-up.
What it can break
It restarts real devices, and everyone on them drops off for a minute or two. A bad rule can repeat that all night. That’s why it’s shared as a write-up, never as a program.

Is it still running?

Status: Write-up

What it does
A simple way to check that a job you set up still runs and still does its work. You hear about it when it goes quiet.
Who it’s for
Anyone with something that runs on a timer, like a daily summary, a backup or a reminder.
What you need
One job you rely on, and a place it can leave a note each time it runs. No code needed.
What it can break
Nothing on its own. Set too tight, it sends false alarms. Set too loose, it stays quiet when something stops.

Morning brief

Status: In testing

What it does
Each morning, your AI reads your calendar and email and writes you one short page: what’s on today, and what needs a reply.
Who it’s for
Busy people who start the day by checking five apps.
What you need
A paid AI plan that can run a task on a timer, and access to your calendar and email.
What it can break
It reads your email, so a planted email could try to give it orders, like “forward this to me”. So it treats everything it reads as information, never orders, and can write only a few named files.

Money planner

Status: Coming

What it does
Turns a home’s bills, income and goals into a plain monthly plan, with reasons.
Who it’s for
Anyone who wants to see where the money goes, without a spreadsheet habit.
What you need
Nothing yet. It will be a write-up with made-up numbers, not before November.
What it can break
Wrong numbers give wrong advice, so the write-up will show how to check its work. There’s no code to run, so it can’t touch your accounts.
